Planning an Intuitive Trip
Many of us spend countless hours looking for
a place to travel. We pick up flyers, look
at websites or call a travel agent to find
deals on current places to go.
Then, we get to the place that we planned and
wonder why we are there. Let me ask you. How
many times have you chosen to go somewhere
and gotten lost or unexpected things came up
and ended up having more fun than you planned?
I have had many experiences like this. I can
remember booking a flight to go to an expo
one year in Texas. A week before we were to
travel the tragedy happened on 9/11. Friends
and family warned us not to travel. I decided
to go to my inner voice and ask myself if I
should go. The answer I received was "yes." So,
my husband and I boarded the plane and went
to Dallas, Texas. When we got to the hotel
and checked in I picked up a flyer on local
happenings in the area. I tucked it away in
my purse and we made our way to the Expo Center.
When we got there half the events were canceled
and the vendors were scarce. My first thought
was that I had made a mistake coming all this
way. I quickly dismissed this knowing that
there had to be a reason I was there. Perhaps
it was for me or maybe for my husband. We decided
that we would call it a day and go back to
our hotel. I decided to take the flyer out
of my purse and look at it. Remarkably, on
it there was an event which reported the Tibetan
monks would be there doing sand Mandala paintings.
I told my husband about it and we decided it
would be a good thing to do. When we arrived
at the center, we walked into the place where
they were doing the sand paintings and a gentleman
approached us. He invited us to a ceremony
that night to wrap up the weekends events.
We thanked him for inviting us and took down
the directions. After dinner we headed over
to the ceremony. It was being held at a yoga
center and there were only about 20 people
there. I was very thankful that this man had
invited us because space was limited. The ceremony
was amazing. It is done by them using music
and chanting. It is a metaphor for the impermanence
of life. They swept up the sand and placed
them in an urn, to fulfill the function of
healing, half is distributed to the audience
at the closing ceremony, while the remainder
is carried to a nearby body of water, where
it is deposited. The waters then carry the
healing blessing to the ocean, and from there
it spreads throughout the world for planetary
healing. When they were chanting I could feel
the energy within me begin to shift and could
sense that we were shifting our consciousness.
I forgot to mention that I was also seven months
pregnant at the time. I could not only feel
my energy shifting but also feel my daughter
moving to the energy of the chanting. It was
an awesome experience. To this day, I believe
that this was an attunement for her. She is
four years old now who loves to sing and is
a very aware child. We left the ceremony feeling
a sense of purpose and balance. The next day
we had dinner and spent some quality time sharing.
This is just one example of the many trips
I have taken by trusting my inner voice. How
can you listen to your inner voice? It is simple.....close
your eyes.......go into your heart and ask
yourself if it feels right or wrong. Then,
go with the right feeling. Try it sometime.
Another thing you can do is pack your car up
and just drive. Give yourself a time limit
and perhaps an amount of miles you want to
travel. Look at the signs that you see. Perhaps
there is a museum that you want to stop at
or a park. Just follow the signs and stop there.
I guarantee you will be guided divinely to
exactly where you need to go! You can also
close your eyes and ask for a symbol or thought
of something you need to see. Then, call your
local travel agent and ask them where you might
go to see whatever came to you. A good travel
agent will know exactly where to guide you.
By using your intuition to travel you will
find yourself taking more exciting trips and
more fulfilled by listening to yourself. Try
it sometime! It will make your traveling more
purposeful.
Here is an easy exercise you can do to ground
you. It will help you to stay focused and live
a more grounded life.
1. Imagine that when you inhale, your breath
comes in through the top of your head moves
to in between your pelvic bone.
2. As you exhale, the breath goes down through
the center of your legs into the earth and
moves to the earth’s center. Within this
center there is a grounded energy that helps
connect you to balance and the vibrations of
the earth plane.
When this happens it automatically pulls your
Soul into your body and grounds you. What this
does is it automatically yanks your Soul into
your body. Many people have tried this and
have felt calmer and clear. Try this and see
what a difference you feel!
